Bonus Saver Account (S3)

Firefighters Credit Co-operative's outstanding service and commitment to members through our day to day banking is helping you purchase your home.

Firefighters Credit Co-operative Bonus Saver Account is an at call savings account . It offers a bonus interest rate if no withdrawls are made in a month. If a withdrawl is made in the monththe bonus rate will not applyfor the entire month. It has been designed to maximize your earnings

Does the Bonus Saver Account:	Yes/ No	Comment
Offer a Bonus interest rate?	Yes	A standard interest rate applies to the whole balance of the Bonus Saver Account. As at the date of this article the standard interest rate is 1.00% p.a. In addition to the standard interest rate, the bonus interest rate will apply if there have been no withdrawals in the month. As at the date of this article the bonus interest rate is 1.50% p.a. That means the total interest payable will currently be 2.50% p.a, where the bonus rate applies. Please refer here or to our Interest Rate Brochure for current rates.
Have a minimum deposit?	No	However, you must deposit $500.00 dollars per month to earn the bonus interest.
Have a minimum / maximum withdrawal?	No	You can withdraw as much or as little as you like, subject to daily transaction limits, however you will forfeit your bonus interest rate for that month.
Have daily transaction limits?	Yes	Certain payment services may have daily transaction limits. Most Electronic Banking transfers, for example Bpay and internal transfers have a daily limit Over the counter cash withdrawals have a daily limit of $2,000.00.
Allow Internet and Telephone Banking?	Yes	Simply complete the appropriate forms from our website.
Allow Periodical Payments	Yes	Periodical Payment forms are available via our website. However, if you make a periodical payment from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit bonus interest for each month the payment is made.
Allow card access?	No	Debit cards are not available on the Bonus Saver Account.
Allow Cheque Book access?	Yes	Member Cheque Books are available on the Bonus Saver Account. However, if you make any withdrawal from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit bonus interest for that month.
Allow Direct Debit withdrawals?	Yes	However, if you make any withdrawal from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit the bonus interest for that month.
Allow BPAY payments?	Yes	However, if you make a BPAY withdrawal from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit the bonus interest for that month.
Allow Credit Co-operative Cheque withdrawals?	Yes	However, if you make any withdrawal from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit the bonus interest for that month.
Allow cash deposits/withdrawals?	Yes	However, if you make any withdrawal from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit the bonus interest for that month.
Allow Direct Credit deposits, including payroll deductions?	Yes	Simply quote BSB 803 209 and your Bonus Saver Account number or complete a payroll deduction form.
Allow Direct Debit deposits from other financial institutions?	Yes	Simply complete the direct debit authority form and send it to us.
Allow cheque deposits?	Yes	Cheques can be deposited over the counter or by mailing to Firefighters Credit Co-operative together with your name and account details.
Allow over the counter transfers and balance enquiries?	Yes	However, if you make a transfer from your Bonus Saver Account you will forfeit the bonus interest for that month.
Have any extra fees?	No	There are no special fees for the Bonus Saver Account. Our standard fees and charges still apply. Please refer to the Fees and Charges Brochure.
Have regular statements of account?	Yes	Your Bonus Saver Account will appear on your consolidated statement of account either monthly or bi-annually.
Allow an overdraft limit to be attached?	No	You cannot link an overdraft limit to a Bonus Saver Account.
Allow a loan offset to be attached?	No	You cannot use the Bonus Saver Account as a loan offset account.

Multi-Access Savings Account (S1)

This account is the everyday savings account and is totally accessible through your Visa debit card. It is accessible via the telephone banking & Firenet Internet Banking System for all bill paying services. Cheque accounts for members operate on this everyday account. Salaries and direct credits and debits can also be processed within this account.

Interest is calculated on the minimum monthly balance and is credited March, June, September and December each year.

Christmas Club (S4)

Automatic weekly deposits into your Christmas Club will make the most expensive time of the year a lot easier.

The first business day in December your Christmas Club funds plus interest will be credited to your nominated savings account for easy access.

Cash Maximiser Account (S6)

A Cash Maximizer Accounts pays a higher than ordinary rate of interest whilst still having your funds available at call.

There is a $2000 minimum balance and a tiered interest rate structure applies. When your balance reaches a higher tiered plateau, the rate of interest applicable changes and will apply to the whole balance.

All access facilities can be used on this account. Funds can be obtained over the counter, via Phone & Firenet Internet Banking, using your Visa Card and via your member cheque book.

Budget Account (S8)

A great way to keep your savings and bill money totally separate and at the same time its earning interest. Weekly deposits into S8 can cater for all those expected and sometimes unexpected bills that come in from time to time.

Like the S1 account the S8 account is available to all the Phone Banking & Firenet Internet Banking options including our bill paying facilities.

Interest is calculated on the minimum monthly balance and is credited March, June, September and December each year.

Junior Firefighters Account (S10)

Firefighters Credit Co-operative's outstanding service and commitment to members is now directed towards helping our members children start their savings journey, by having a dedicated children account.

Firefighters Credit Co-operative has adopted a system of equitable cost sharing. Fees and Charges incurred for using particular services are met only by those members using the services.
  Generally, the fees and charges the Firefighters Credit Co-operative is charged for delivering a service to our members are the fees we pass on.
We are not about fees as an income - only a means of recouping a cost incurred. We believe that this system is fair and equitable for all members.
No monthly account keeping fee or charge applies to accounts.

The Fees & Charges brochure must be read in conjunction with the Firefighters Credit Co-operative’s Account and Access Facility Conditions of Use, as well as our Interest Rates.

Golden Helmet (S65)

Transactional account for retirees

Firefighters Credit Co-operative Golden Helmet account has been designed to maximize your earnings while your account maintains the minimum amount of $25,000.00.

If your account remains above the minimum amount of $25,000.00 transactional fees will not apply. The only fees that would be charged are Foreign Currency Fees which would be charged at a lower rate of 0.5% and Swift payment fees as listed in our Fees and Charges brochure.

This is a perfect account for people who know how to take control of their funds no matter what age you are when you decide to retire. No fixed terms means that your every day needs to access cash and payment services are always available without any penalties being attracted.

This account combines the benefit of a savings account with an interest rate that will always match our lowest Term Deposit rate and we will notify you if there is a change in the rate in compliance with the requirements of the Mutual Banking Code of Practice.If the balance falls below the minimum amount the interest rate will revert to our standard S1 account for the period the amount remains below the minimum required balance.

You will still have the ease of access of a transaction account using ATM & EFTPOS, online, phone banking and the option of a cheque book if required. Direct Charging fees may apply to ATM & EFTPOS transactions .

If the balance falls below $25,000.00 all standard fees and charges as per our fees & charges brochure will apply for the whole month.

Mortgage Breaker

Put your savings to work and BREAK down your mortgage loan.

Want to reduce your loan term, save interest on your mortgage loan and reduce the taxable interest on your savings? Then you need the Mortgage Breaker account!

The Mortgage Breaker account is a unique savings account. It "offsets" 100% of your savings balance against your Mortgage Breaker L59 home loan, before your mortgage loan interest is calculated. This reduces the amount of interest you pay and may shorten the term of your mortgage loan by many years.

As the balance in your Mortgage Breaker savings account is offset against your Mortgage Breaker L59 home loan, rather than earning interest, there is no interest to tax, so not only are you reducing the amount of interest you pay on your home loan, you are also reducing the taxable interest on your savings.

Your savings are always at call. Funds are not locked up in the Mortgage Breaker account, so if you need cash your savings are available at call.

A Mortgage Breaker account can be used to offset your savings against either a new or an existing Mortgage Breaker L59 home loan. There is no minimum amount required in your savings account to obtain the benefit of the offset, however the more you keep in your Mortgage Breaker savings account, the more dramatic the reduction of your home loan.

For as long as you have your Mortgage Breaker L59 home loan, you can use your Mortgage Breaker savings account as the "only" bank account you will need.
